I am writing this brief email for two reasons.

Firstly, as the General Manager of the Peninsula Golf Club I wanted to thank all those that were able to find time in their busy schedule to join our volunteers and operations team at Wainui this past Sunday, May 1^st for our latest walk about. We were intently listening to the comments and feedback of those in attendance and will continue to do so as we move toward full ownership of the facility. It was early apparent to see the pride and excitement of all attendees and staff…in a word Wainui is “stunning”.

Secondly, NZStrong is nearing completion of the clubhouse and in turn the progress has garnered much attention from Members, their guests, and the public. To this end, some individuals have been driving to the site and entering the building, I’m sure with the best of intentions. As is fact, the clubhouse and golf course are still a construction site and not in our ownership. NZStrong is at risk from a health and safety perspective and should something occur it would impede their ability to complete the work remaining and therefore have requested, in the nicest way, that we remain patient and allow them to continue, in our best interest, by refraining from entering the property at this time.
